‘Roughing the Waistline’: Trade in that standard 7-layer dip for something even better – both in taste and for the waistline. Instead of cream cheese, mash up some avocados until it’s a nice smooth consistency. Pass on the sour cream and trade it in for Greek Yogurt. Turn over those refried beans for some black beans.
‘Too Many Pounds on Player’: Those wings that are so irresistible. As they should be. But instead of frying them up and dousing them in barbecue sauce; throw in some teriyaki sauce or do a search for low-cal wing sauces. There are TONS, my favorites found here: - and broil them up instead of frying them. Still just as delicious, but not nearly as hard to work off!
And there is no ‘Illegal Substitution’ when you toss out the mayonnaise on your devilled eggs and put Greek Yogurt in the game instead.
It’s ok to get called for ‘Intentional Grounding’ by getting rid of those store bought potato chips and making your own. Just peel a potato, slice real thin, toss in your favorite seasoning and microwave for 3-4 minutes.
Don’t fumble on your food choices – homemade tortilla chips are another way to get all the flavor without all the calories. Stock up on the corn tortillas, cut them into wedges, coat with cooking spray and bake at about 375 for about 12 minutes. I like to flip them about half way through. Before cooking, you can also season them with some of your favorite flavors. I like a light sprinkle of chili powder.
Intercept the traditional ranch dip and take it all the way with a Greek tzatziki dip.
