East Coast Road Trip –
Here’s my East Coast Road Trip –
I would fly into Niagara Falls and probably decide to spend a day or two there. Then, the road trip would begin; from there I would drive down to NYC and do all the NYC things. Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Broadway, Wall Street, Times Square, Central Park. And then I would head over to the World Trade Center and see 1 World Trade Center and see the Memorial Plaza and Memorial Museum to pay my tributes.
After I was done there, I would head down to Philadelphia for the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. I would not forget to stop in for a real Philly Cheesesteak, either.
Then it would be time to head to D.C. to see the White House, the Jefferson Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, National Mall, Arlington National Cemetery, The Pentagon, Smithsonian American Art Museum, and, really, it would probably take me a week there to make sure I really saw everything I need to see.
If I had more time after that, I’d probably find some of the beautiful east coast beaches and parks to stop through until I ran out of time.
My oldest daughter is actually in 8th grade this year and their 8th grade trip is to New York and D.C. and they will be seeing a lot of this stuff. I think it is awesome that you’ll get to experience it (and I might be a little jealous that she gets to before me!). But, that has been a trip I’ve wanted to take for a long time but plans always seem to change on me. Maybe I’ll drop the kids at Grandma’s next year and go out there without them!
