9/19/1957 – Nevada Test Site detonates a 218 pound W-25 modified warhead named Rainier underground. It was the first underground detonation of a nuclear weapon with no radioactive fallout.
9/19/1959 – The Soviet leader, Nikita Khrushchev, was banned from seeing Disneyland. He came to Los Angeles to tour the area before a meeting with President Eisenhower. He toured Hollywood and was on the movie set of “Can-Can” living it up and then got in a debate with Twentieth Century Fox’s President and then was told he could not go to Disneyland for fear of crowds posing a safety hazard to him.
9/19/1995 – A 35,000 word manifesto written by the Unabomber was published in The Washington Post anonymously. This manifesto was recognized by the style of writing and led to the arrest of Ted Kaczynski.

Billie Jean King went on to be one of the greatest woman tennis player ever, become the first female athlete to earn more than $100,000, got the U.S. Open to equal the prize amounts for male and female players amongst many other things.

9/21/1780 – The term Benedict Arnold was coined. The American General Arnold promised to hand over West Point to the British in exchange for money and a high ranking position in the British Army.
