Well, Blackhawks take game 1. What a game! 3 goals for Nashville in the 1st, 3 goals for the 'Hawks in the 2nd and it stays that way until double OT! How crazy is that. Way to go Darling for that performance. I am happy to hear that Corey gets the go ahead for game 2, though.
Bulls are starting their playoff run on Saturday against the Bucks. Hopefully they can pull themselves together and take care of business in this series.
Cubs are still winning. Sad I missed them for the opening series here in Colorado but happy to see they took 2 of 3 when the Rockies are supposed to be getting better now as well.
All my home teams doing good, it makes me miss sweet home Chicago a little bit. Wish I could be there to see it and feel the atmosphere of happy Chicago sports fans.
Every day since I've left for the last time, it feels more and more like it will actually have been the last time. I will go back to the city. I love the city. But that small town I grew up in just outside the city, I don't know that I'll be back there now. I'm feeling more and more like there is nothing left there for me.
And that is hard because every time I go back through that town, I am like a little kid seeing somewhere for the first time. I stare out the window in awe, taking everything in, remembering what used to be there seeing all the new businesses and buildings, I remember where I used to hang out and what I used to do. Everything is nostalgic, everything I reminisce about. Now there is no reason to go back.
I have thought many times about going back for a day or two and renting out a space and just inviting everyone just to see who would show up. There is at least one less person that would show up now but maybe if I did that, maybe that would be the closure I need to make peace with that place, to start a new book because that one has finally completely ended.
